The “Towards 5G: Research and Standardization” course aims to provide an in-depth understanding of the overall 5G ecosystem and individual building blocks, with the latest updates on 5G R&D, 5G research and standardisation roadmaps, and 5G applicability in a variety of use cases.
The course is delivered by Emil Olbrich, who is currently President at PrimeLime, and also VP of Networks with Signals Research Group. Emil has over 20 years of experience in the field of wireless telecommunications and has worked primarily in R&D at some of the largest telecommunication companies in the world – such as Motorola, Qualcomm and Ericsson.
5G World Advisory Board member Prof. Mischa Dohler delivers a course focusing on “Internet of Things in 5G”. Mischa provides participants with a deep understanding of the IoT ecosystem, the device technology roadmap, knowledge of value-chain, capabilities, IoT data and more.
Mischa is full Professor in Wireless Communications at King’s College London, driving cross-disciplinary research and innovation in technology, sciences and arts. He is the Director of the Centre for Telecommunications Research, co-founder of the pioneering smart city company Worldsensing, Fellow of the IEEE and the Royal Society of Arts (RSA), and a Distinguished Member of Harvard Square Leaders Excellence.
